The ADM Tiger baseball team officially matched their win total from last season by pushing their current winning streak up to three games with an 8-2 road victory against I-35 last night.
Unlike the first two contests, ADM wouldn’t pick up the scoring until the 4th inning where they would be the ones to strike first pushing across three runs thanks to a pair of I-35 errors and a Jack O’Brian RBI single. I-35 would fight back pushing across two runs in the next inning to decrease ADM’s lead now 3-2. The Tigers would match the Roadrunners courtesy of I-35’s fourth error and a sacrifice fly by Jacob Kenny in the top half of the sixth. ADM would have the last laugh and finish in a big way with a three run 7th that started off with Jack O’Brian’s 2nd double and 4th RBI of the season. That would be followed up with and RBI single by Nick Dufoe and Jacob Kenny’s 2nd RBI of the night with a fielders choice.
The offensive performances were almost outdone by the man on the mound for ADM in Dalton Hews. The hard throwing left hander went five strong innings while giving up just two runs off of three hits, just one walk, and most impressively 11 strikeouts on the ledger. Logan Crannell would relieve Hews for the final six outs to record his second save of the season.
The Tigers left just five runners on base all game long and for the third straight contest, ADM has not had to face a deficit by earning and keeping a lead all three games. ADM will now enter the weekend undefeated and will look to push their winning streak to 4 games against Carroll on Tuesday, a game you can catch on K107.9 FM starting with pregame coverage at 7:15 pm.
