Michael OlsonA Jefferson man was recently sentenced in Greene County District Court for a March incident.

According to court documents, 55 year-old Michael Allen Olson pled guilty to an aggravated misdemeanor for third degree criminal mischief. He had his two-year prison sentence suspended and was placed on informal probation with the Greene County Sheriff’s office for two years.

The sentence was a result of an incident on March 3rd. Jefferson Police Officers originally arrested Olson with public intoxication after they were called out to Hy-Vee. As Olson was being brought to the law enforcement center, he kicked the back door of the patrol vehicle, causing damage. He was originally charged with a felony for criminal mischief, but court documents show the charge was changed to a misdemeanor.

Olson was also ordered to pay court costs, surcharges and victim restitution.
