IMG_6803The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The Supervisors granted a tax abatement to Randy Nichol of Guthrie Center for two land parcels for mobile homes. Nichol did not own the mobile homes, which have now been removed from the property that he owns, but due to a change in the way mobile homes are classified for tax purposes, Nichol was asked to pay taxes on them. He asked to have the obligation removed and the Supervisors voted unanimously in favor of his request.

The Supervisors also discussed partial funding of a recycling feasibility study with Joyce Miller of the Guthrie County Transfer Station. The Board agreed to give $5,000 to along with other counties to determine if single stream recycling is more efficient than a dual stream. They also discussed work logs that transfer station employees have created so that they can assess the work the employees do in the wake of death of long-time department head Steve Patterson.

Finally, the Board approved resolutions enacting Guthrie County urban renewal bond principal payments and a resolution appointing Auditors Deputies as presented.
