The Greene County boys’ golf team season is over, and all that’s left for the track & field Rams is the Coed State Meet.

Coach Dave Destival’s Rams finished seventh among eight teams Friday at the Majestic Hills Golf Course in Denison at a Class 3A Sectional tournament. Elijah Block shot 79 to lead the Rams, which tied him for ninth place individually. Isaiah Yoder shot 89, with Ben Wilkins at 92, and Jadon Block 94. The top four individuals and top two teams advance to a District tournament this Friday in Atlantic.

Greene County will have four events for girls and two for boys at the Coed State Track & Field Championships this week at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Megan Durbin returns in the high jump, an event she won a year ago. Olivia Hansen will run the 200 meter dash, Janelle Brophy will long jump, and the sprint medley relay of Durbin, Hansen, Megan Doran, and Melanie Doran, will run. For the boys’, Carter Morton will high jump, and the 4 x 100 meter relay of Logan Lansman, Chase Stoline, Colby Kafer, and Nick Schroeder, will run. The State Meet is May 18-19-20 at Drake Stadium in Des Moines and all three Raccoon Valley Radio stations will have updates all three days.

The Rams play regular season girls’ golf tomorrow in Perry vs. the Jayettes, Dallas Center-Grimes, and Winterset, at 4 p.m. Monday’s action is the regular season finale for Coach Heath Telleen’s squad. The girls go to Denison on May 22 for a Class 4A Regional tournament.
