IMG_6871The Guthrie County Community Foundation presented checks to several non-profit projects in a ceremony last night at Guthrie Center City Hall. Foundation President Laura Wolfe announced the organization, their project and the amount they would receive.

“The Boys and Girls Club organization is set to receive $1,607 for a driveway to their ball fields and a convection oven. Heart of Iowa Habitat for Humanity receives $7,000 for repairs to four homes this summer. $8,890 to the Guthrie County Historical Village for repairs to the roof and improvements to their buildings. The Prairie Woodland Foundation will receive $10,500, and the Guthrie County Fair Board will be granted $10,643 for improvements to the county fairgrounds.”

The funds are a product of the Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation. Counties adjacent to Greene County receive funds because of an agreement due to Wild Rose Casino’s location there.
