The Stuart City Council is met in special session last night to approve advertising for a new EMS director.

Councilman Matt Funk tells Raccoon Valley Radio the position will be full-time and the council is hoping to hire a director who is also a paramedic so that they can cover occasional shifts and increase overall performance. The director’s primary responsibilities will be to see that the service runs smoothly and records and standards are accurately kept. The council plans to hire two additional paramedics in the near future.
