A reminder for motorists that today is the fifth annual Market-To-Market Relay Iowa.

The 75-mile race along the Raccoon River Valley Trail begins in downtown Jefferson at 6am. About 350 teams of up to seven people each will follow the 17 exchange sites on the trail. There are two sites in Greene County including Winklemans Switch and Cooper. Jefferson Mayor Craig Berry says there are temporary road closures near the starting point on the southside of the courthouse. There will also be volunteers at each of the road crossings on the trail.

The final wave of teams will leave Jefferson around 9am with all participants to finish the race in downtown Des Moines.
