Tomorrow night the Perry Fine Arts group will be hosting a concert in the Perry High School’s Performing Arts Center featuring a group called LYRA.
Organizer Cathy Clark describes what LYRA is. “It is a Russian group of singers. They sing a capella, they are from St. Petersburg. The songs will be in Russian, but they will give English descriptions through them. This will be their second time in Perry. They were fantastic when they were here before.” The program will consist of sacred music of the Russian Orthodox Church and Russian folk music.
There is no cost for the concert, though free-will donations will be accepted. The concert was paid for, in part, by an $800 grant from the Bock Family Foundation. Clark encourages people to attend the concert, saying if people like to listen to music, it’s something not to be missed.
