Senator Joni Ernst took questions from a group of more than 50 at Veterans Memorial Hall in Panora Friday morning. Citizens quizzed the Senator on issues ranging from the Republican plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the conduct of President Donald Trump, and her stance on environmental issues and education.
Ernst paid special attention to her commitment to scrapping the ACA in favor of a better deal with better coverage.
“The ACA is failing. I have talked to several people would rather pay the penalties because it is cheaper than being covered and that is not acceptable.”
Senator Ernst received pushback from several people in the crowd, but the the conversation remained civil throughout the hour long question and answer session.
