Raccoon Valley Radio received several awards at the annual Iowa Broadcast News Association awards ceremony.
The station group earned four awards Saturday night at the Stoney Creek Inn in Johnston. Former Dallas County News Director Samantha Gronlund placed second in small market radio for general reporting and third place for overall excellence in reporting. Greene County News Director Coltrane Carlson received third place in small market radio for use of actuality and farm and agribusiness categories. General Manager John McGee says he’s happy with his staff receiving recognition for their work. However, he adds that they don’t do news to get awards, but it’s our continuing commitment to deliver the type of news that the listener wants to hear.
