Tomorrow is the deadline to submit applications for Raccoon Valley Radio’s two business and broadcasting scholarships.
Two $250 scholarships will be awarded to two local high school seniors who are headed to a two or four-year college or university this fall, and plan on majoring in either business or broadcasting. Raccoon Valley Radio General Manager John McGee explains why he feels the scholarships are important. “I think it’s neat to give back to the community. These scholarships are made possible in part through our business sponsorships of our senior salute program. So the more that the businesses have been involved with it, the more they help us become successful, the more we can give back to the community.”
Students interested in the scholarship need to turn in their application no later than 5 p.m. Friday. Completed applications can be dropped off at the KDLS studio located at 22562 141st Drive just outside Perry, or given to a guidance counselor to submit. The winners of the scholarships will be announced during the individual school’s awards presentation.
