The City of Perry is currently working on a drainage easement construction project, which has resulted in the temporary closure of the Perry School driving range.
The work is being performed on storm sewers attached to 18th and North Streets, and part of the project takes the pipes through the driving range. During Monday’s Perry School Board meeting, City Administrator Sven Peterson got the go ahead from the Board to proceed with the project. However, there were concerns raised with the pathing of one of the pipes. Before approving the easement, the Board added a stipulation that there would be no additional costs assessed to the school if the city needed to go in a different path than what was originally planned.
The school says the driving range should reopen Monday pending cooperation of the weather.
