Consistency is always something every single sports team across the country strives for but it usually takes time before such consistency can take hold.

That is not the case for the Panorama boys golf team after their phenomenal performance at the Jester Park Golf Course yesterday afternoon. Head coach Hal Rossow witnessed his team establish consistency early all the while setting a first place trend after picking up their third straight first place team finish.

What was intended to be an 18 hole meet was turned into just a 9 hole meet but that did not bother the Panthers who would end up taking first place with a score of 154, which was a full 13 strokes below second place Des Moines Christian with 167. South Hamilton would end up taking the third spot with a nine hole team round of 170.

Once again, Kolby Shackelford earned top golfer honors leading the Panthers and taking the top medalist on the day with his one under performance of 35 through nine holes. That makes two out of three meets where the talented freshmen has not just paced Panorama, but earned top medalist in the entire meet. For the third straight meet, the Panthers as a team had the top two golfers on the meet as George Appleseth cruised to an even par 36 on the day, taking runner up medalist. Will Babcock earned a solid three over for the day with a 39 through nine holes.

Panorama will set their sights on a fourth straight first place performance next Tuesday when they tackle the 5 by 80 Golf & Country Club in Menlo. There the Panthers will be swinging against a four team field comprised of Earlham, West Central Valley, and North Polk beginning at 4:00 pm.

Also in action Tuesday will be the Lady Panther golf team as first year head coach Melissa Hochstetler and her team reside in the friendly confines of the Lake Panorama Golf Course for a home meet against the same cast of characters beginning at 4:00 pm.
