The Easter Bunny is coming to Perry once again this Saturday, making two separate appearances.
The first will be at the annual Parks and Recreation Department’s Easter Egg Hunt at Wiese Park. The Bunny will arrive at 10 a.m. to see the children and pose for pictures. The hunt will then begin at 10:30 a.m. for children ages 2-8. Chamber of Commerce Director Bob Wilson likes how this event is run, because they make sure everyone stays safe. “This is broken up by age. So it’s kind of neat, as a parent I love the fact that there’s not eight-year-olds trampling my two-year-old. It’s pretty well thought out. It is a little organized chaos, but Parks and Rec do a great job. It’s just a really fun community event.”
The Easter Bunny will then head to the Perry Hy-Vee from noon – 2 p.m. Parents are encouraged to bring their own cameras for photo opportunities, but there will be free photos provided by Hy-Vee. Kids can also enter to win an Easter basket. There is no cost for either event.
