The Greene County School Board met Wednesday night in special session.

Following a public hearing, the Board approved the 2017 fiscal year budget amendment. The amendment was for replacements of Google Chromebooks for $112,343 and $1,370,813 for refinancing revenue bonds. The Board then approved the 2018 fiscal year budget following another public hearing. The tax levy for next fiscal year is $12.68 per $1,000 valuation, which is a $0.32 increase compared to the current fiscal year tax levy of $12.36.

The Board also approved a resolution for the 101-percent budget guarantee of $331,000.

Finally, the Board tabled ratifying the negotiated contract with the Greene County Education Association to next week after the teacher salary supplement is finalized.
