IMG_6522The Stuart Public Library Foundation book sale begins today. Theresa Powell,  President of the People Active for Library Service (PALS) organization which supports the library, says the library has an excess of books that need to be cleared out in favor of new material.

“We have a tremendous amount of paperbacks that we would really like to see head out the door. So we have kept the price down on those to make sure plenty of them move.”

The library must spend approximately $1,000 a month on library materials to keep their inventory current. The sale is going on today from 1 p.m. – 7 p.m., tomorrow from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.. Hard covers will be sold for $2, soft covers are $1, 25 cents for paperbacks, $5 for audio books, and $1 for movies and CD’s.
