To say that yesterday was a success for the ACGC Lady Charger track and field team would almost be an understatement as they participated in the annual Kip Janvrin Invite in Panora.

Through quite a strong eight team field head coach Dave Spratte witnessed his Lady Charger team use eleven top 2 performances on the day to catapult ACGC into the top spot taking the crown with a team point total of 133.

Savana Fuller paced ACGC with the number of top two performances individually as the talented sophomore picked up three second place finishes for 18 points on the day. Fuller picked up a second place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.09 seconds while her time of 26.84 seconds earned her a second place finish as well in the 200 meter dash. Savana’s third second place performance of the day came in the 400 meter dash notching a time of 1:04.72.

Kate Crawford came away as ACGC’s individual points leader on the day. Crawford earned 20 points alone as she dominated the distance events taking home first in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:21.03 followed by another first place finish in the 3000 meter run with a time 11:10.90. The Lady Chargers would take the top two spots in that event as Emma Swanson followed Crawford with a time of 11:58.00 for second place.

Success was had for the Lady Chargers in the individual hurdle events as Mady Smith snatched a second place finish in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.61 seconds while Olivia Laabs joined the second place party earning runner up in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:14.00.

Other top two finishes on the day for the Lady Chargers were comprised of a first place run in the distance medley with the group of Reagan Rumelhart, Olivia Laabs, Sara Schmeling, and Kate Crawford notched 4:41.45. In the long jump it was Sara Schmeling to earn second place honors while ACGC’s lone first place finish in the field events came from Madison McDermott tossing 37′-05″.

The next meet set for Charger track and field will be this Thursday where ACGC welcomes in Coon-Rapids Bayard for a 5:00 start time.
