Dallas Co SupervisorsAt Tuesday’s Dallas County Board of Supervisors meeting, a portion of the time was dedicated to a workshop regarding the County Attorney’s Office. County Attorney Wayne Reisetter detailed how the County’s rapid growth has been impacting criminal courts. In particular, there has been a rise in serious crimes throughout the county. Reisetter said they would like to deal with the increased workload by shifting a lot of it to the paralegal staff. Additionally, he discussed the data systems they utilize. They currently use a vendor called Pro Law to handle their communication needs, but that system is more geared towards smaller counties. As Dallas County has continued to grow, they’re looking into using a different vendor, Judicial Dialogue, which is more user-friendly for larger counties.

In addition to the workshop, the Board unanimously approved a resolution to abate mobile home taxes as presented, and payroll change notices. The Board decided to table the hiring of a new public health director until next week, due to concerns over the amount of salary compared to their predecessor.
