Greene County first through third graders entertained hundreds of people on Thursday with their annual spring program.
This year’s theme “Jukebox Time Machine” featured jukebox music from the 1940’s through today. Students sang various songs like “Don’t Stop Believin’” by Journey and “She Loves You” by the Beatles. Other students danced to “Whip Nae Nae”, “Walking on Sunshine” and performed a drum routine with “Uptown Funk.”
Co-organizer Sue Turner explains why they keep putting on an elementary spring concert every year.
“I think the community really enjoys it. We get a lot of compliments after our programs, we get people sending notes and letters to the principals telling us how wonderful they thought we did. So I guess that’s the feedback we get from the community as well as the kids saying how much they enjoy, so we keep doing it.”
The students also had artwork on display by the middle school gym as part of their program.
