The Jefferson Police Department recently released the results from the latest special Traffic Enforcement Program.
Captain Heath Enns says from March 15th through the 17th, officers issued eight citations and 137 warnings. Two citations were issued for driving with a suspended or revoked license and dark window violation. One citation was issued for a seat belt violation, speeding, no proof of insurance and other traffic of violation. The most warnings were given for other traffic violations of 28, 26 seat belt violations and 22 vehicle equipment violations.
During the sTEP Wave, officers investigated one traffic accident.
Last year during the St. Patrick’s Day sTEP Wave, officers issued 12 citations and 33 warnings.
