The Dallas County Conservation Board is putting on two events for local residents to enjoy this weekend.
The Peregrine Falcon Watch program will allow participants to view the birds nesting on the east side ledges of the State Capitol Building. A Dallas County naturalist and a Department of Natural Resources official will lead the program. There’s no cost to attend and the program will be from 9 to 11am today.
The public is also invited to hike through the prairies and forests of the Kuehn Conservation Area tomorrow. A naturalist, natural resource manager and volunteers will lead the hike and offer tips and advice for finding deer antlers, morel mushrooms and spring wildflowers. Participants are asked to wear shoes and clothing that’s appropriate for walking through brush. The hike may be cancelled if there is poor weather. The free program will take place from 1 to 3pm.
