All those Greene County 4-H’ers who are planning on showing livestock at this year’s county fair, must pass the Food Safety and Quality Assurance program.
Extension 4-H Coordinator Kayla Hyett says the next round of testing and training classes will be held tomorrow. The testing times are from 3:30 to 5:30pm for any 4-H’er that’s in 7th to 12th grade.
“You can come in and test with me. You get three options to pass the test and then you’re qualified for the year.”
Those 4-H’ers in 4th through 6th grade or a first time 4-H’er must attend the training class, which will follow the testing time from 6 to 7:30pm.
“It’s an hour and a half of activities and getting to know different procedures to better take care of your animals.”
There is one final training date scheduled for FSQA on April 1st. Both the tests and training classes are at the Extension office in Jefferson.
There’s no cost and pre-registration is encouraged by calling or stopping by the Extension office.
