Guthrie County 4-H’ers are hosting a fundraiser for a new small animal barn on the fairgrounds.
The poultry and rabbit barn is one of the last original buildings and is celebrating 159 years this year. A garage sale fundraiser will be held Saturday, April 1st from 8am to 5pm, along with a bake sale and a raffle. Jimmy Hummel with Guthrie County 4-H tells Raccoon Valley Radio all kinds of items are being collected by 4-Hers for the sale.
“It won’t just be baby clothes and stuff that you would normally find at a garage sale. We have found old cars, chainsaws and antique tractors. We are already starting to store things at the fairgrounds.”
4-H clubs throughout the county are gathering items for the sale. If you have items you wish to donate for the sale, contact Hummel at 641-431-0173 or Sydney Henderson at 641-431-0173.
