Heads up to those celebrating St. Patrick’s Day next week, increased law enforcement will be out on the roads in Iowa.
The next special Traffic Enforcement Program will be from March 15th through the 18th. Sponsored by the Department of Public Safety and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau, increased law enforcement will be looking for impaired drivers. Last year, there were zero fatalities in Iowa during the St. Patrick’s Day sTEP Wave program.
Local law enforcement reminds everyone that if you are going to drink alcohol, have a designated driver available or utilize AAA’s new Tow To Go program.
The Jefferson Police Department and Greene County Sheriff’s office participate in each of the sTEP Wave programs.
