Greene County FFA will have a member serving as a district officer.

Gwen Black was elected to serve as the 2017-18 Southwest District FFA Treasurer.

She earned the position after filling out an application form, giving a short speech and answering two interview questions. She was then voted on by other FFA delegates from the other chapters in the district. Her opponent was Kaleb David of Lenox FFA chapter. She originally beat out 25 other potential candidates to be on the ballot for consideration.

Her duties as the district treasurer include receiving, recording and maintaining neat and accurate treasury records and other tasks.

The election took place at Red Oak High School this past Saturday.
