A two vehicle accident in Perry results in no injuries Friday.
The Perry Police Department received a call about the crash at 4:20pm at the intersection of 7th and Warford streets.
A Jeep Liberty was stopped at a yield sign heading north on 7th Street. The driver, Jeffrey Argueta of Perry, looked to his left onto Warford Street, which is one way street, and proceeded through the intersection. Haidar Kokola of Des Moines was heading west on Warford in a Nissan Pathfinder, the wrong way, and hit the passenger side of the jeep. The collision pushed both vehicles to the northwest corner of the intersection where the jeep caught the curb and flipped onto the driver’s side.
Officers say Argueta crawled out the back of the jeep and was treated at the scene for possible injuries, but refused transport to the Dallas County Hospital. Kokola and a male passenger were also uninjured in the accident. Everyone was wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident. The jeep is considered to be a total loss, while the Pathfinder sustained severe damage.
Kokola was cited for driving the wrong way down a one way street.
Dallas County Ambulance assisted the Perry Police Department at the scene.
