Now that the spring sports season is underway and Iowa high school girls basketball champions well since crowned, the offseason officially finds it’s way to all high school girls basketball coaches.

Unfortunately for the ADM Lady Tiger basketball team, they’ve had to start their offseason a little earlier than they would have liked but that didn’t take away from a solid season. Though over half of the season, ADM resided in the top five Raccoon River Conference teams in fewest points allowed while never dropping below third in the conference in total rebounds.

Before head coach Rick Dillinger dove into full offseason preparation, he spoke with with Raccoon Valley Radio about his overview of the season.

“We came along way and we got better by the end of the season. It’d be nice, where we were at the end of the season to start the season and see what we really could’ve done but the kids played hard and gave effort for the most part all year and we were happy with our improvement,” explained coach Dillinger.

Now after one season of ADM basketball in the books, coach Dillinger heads into his first basketball offseason at ADM where his styles and systems can take hold even further and the progress sustained can continue. Raccoon Valley Radio also spoke with coach Dillinger on how he viewed the progress of his team and that progression moving forward into next season.

“We’ve got a good background set fundamentally with our kids. We feel we’ve got a good base coming back; we’re going to have to replace some scoring with Sydney graduating and our other two seniors that have worked so hard in practice as seniors make us better but overall we’ve made progress,” stated coach Dillinger.
