Tuesday, the West Central Activities conference was eliminated in the boys state basketball tournament after Van Meter fell in the opening round.
That means that the season is over for all 10 conference teams and with that the all conference honors have been released.
There were a total of three Panthers on the list for this season, one as a second team selection and two as honorable mentions. Panorama’s second team all conference selection belonged to undoubtedly one of the true leaders for the Panthers in senior Bryce Halterman. Halterman was a dominant presence averaging 18.1 points per game (3rd in conference), posting up an average of 7.6 rebounds per contest (2nd in conference) while averaging 3.8 assists per game (4th in conference) and 3 steals on average per game (2nd in conference). Looking deeper inside those numbers, Bryce became the only West Central Activities player this season to rank inside the top five in all four of those categories. Halterman ended his senior campaign shooting 52.5% from the floor, 41% from beyond the arc, and 70% from the free throw line. Halterman ends his four year career with the Panthers having totaled 450 points averaging out to 7.9 career points per game average.
Panorama’s two honorable mentions were bestowed upon fellow senior Jeramy Randol and sophomore Gracen Welberg. Randol’s honorable mention season consisted of 7.6 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, a total blocks count of 7, all while shooting 49% from the field. Gracen Welberg had a season deserving of a honorable mention shooting 37% from the field, averaging 9 points per game, 5.5 rebounds and 2 assists per game.
Those players and the rest of the Panther boys basketball will officially wrap up their season tonight when they commence with their annual awards night banquet.
