Recording the first winning season in the five years the Rams have played as Greene County, and a second place finish in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference, were some of the highlights for the boys’ basketball team. Head coach Chris Nelson led the Rams to a 14-8 season record and a 13-3 mark in the conference. The team banquet was held on Monday night and the coach told Raccoon Valley Radio he was pleased. “I thought the banquet went pretty well. We had a pretty nice turnout. The weather put a little bit of a wrinkle into that for some people, but it was a good turnout. I thought we did a nice job of honoring the kids, and that was easy to do because we had a lot of kids do a lot of nice things. We had some records broken, and it was a fun night to end the season.”
Graduation will take starters Trey Tucker and Calvin Skalla, plus key reserves Thomas Jacobsen and Chase Stoline, but starters Wade Adcock, a junior, plus sophomores Trey Hinote and Lance Hughes, return.
