Guthrie County 4-H clubs are heading up a garage sale this spring.
It is a fundraiser for the construction of a new small animal barn at the Guthrie County Fairgrounds. The poultry and rabbit barn is one of the last original buildings and is celebrating 159 years this year. The garage sale will be held Saturday, April 1st from 8am to 5pm. A bake sale and a 50/50 raffle will accompany the garage sale. Jimmy Hummel with Guthrie County 4-H tells Raccoon Valley Radio all kinds of items are being collected by 4-hers for the sale.
“It won’t just be baby clothes and stuff that you would normally find at a garage sale. We have found old cars, chainsaws and antique tractors. We are already starting to store things at the fairgrounds.”
4-H clubs throughout the county are gathering items for the sale. If you have items you wish to donate for the sale, contact Jimmy Hummel at 641-431-0173 or Sydney Henderson at 641-431-0173.
