There’s still time to sign up for those needing heating assistance this winter and early spring.
New Opportunities Greene County Coordinator Teresa Lansman says the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program is open to anyone, based on their household income. To apply, you must present all income for the household, social security cards for each individual living in the home, as well as a gas or electric bill.
LIHEAP runs from November 1st through April 30th. Those who participate in the program are guaranteed to not have their heat shut off through April 30th.
Appointments are on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays at the New Opportunities office in Jefferson at 1401 North Elm Street or call 386-2719.
