The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. Joe Hanner, Guthrie County Conservation Director presented a Conservation Department update and the Supervisors approved the Conservation Board budget for 2017-2018. Guthrie County Zoning Administrator Chris Whitaker presented a Zoning Administration update. Whitaker told the supervisors that according to Iowa code their approval is needed on plat surveys within the county. The rule was not previously observed. The supervisors instructed Whitaker to get more eyes on the plat surveys before they are officially recorded by the Recorder’s office. The Auditor’s office will also inspect the surveys. Any mistakes on surveys that have been officially recorded must be re-recorded, which can be a complicated process according to Whitaker.
