The girls’ basketball season ended on Feb. 11 for the Greene County Rams with a Class 3A Region 3 first round loss to Kuemper Catholic on the Knights’ home floor by a 67-26 final. Coach Dean Lyons’ team finished 4-18 after going 3-18 last season.

Junior Laurin Lyons was the leading scorer on the team for the second year in a row. She averaged 8.3 points per game. Second leading scorer Kenna Marquardt missed the last five games due to a knee injury. The senior averaged 8.1 points per contest. Seniors Hannah Promes and Taylor Wessling averaged 5.3 and 5.0 points, respectively.

The Rams averaged 32.4 points per game and made 31.5% of field goal attempts. The team was at 27.5% from three-point range and made 54.6% of free throw attempts. Greene County averaged almost 19 turnovers per game.

Marquardt, Promes, and Wessling were the only seniors on the team.
