Some structures in downtown Perry will be a bit more textured tis spring.
The Art on the Prairie committee is hosting the inaugural Fiber Art Fair on Saturday, May 6th. Jenny Eklund requested the City Council’s permission to use city property for the event and received an energetic approval.
“She’s going to cover our light poles with what she’s calling light pole warmers, and some of the other furniture and bike rack type things downtown. It should be a really fun event not only for people who are really into fiber art but also the community to come out and check out the downtown” says City Administrator Sven Peterson.
Eklund says she plans to use a variety of different colors to help bring awareness to various causes and many fiber artists from around the region are very excited about the new event.
