The Lady Tigers had one of their toughest tests of the season coming off of a good 5 game stretch as they entered the Cats Den last night to square off against Carlisle.

Both the Lady Wildcats and the Lady Tigers would home in on two quarters a piece and it would be ADM to own the first quarter out right outscoring the high flying Carlisle offense 13-11 after one. The second quarter would tell a different tale as the hometown Lady Wildcats would find their offensive rhythm while also forcing half of ADM’s second quarter possessions into turnovers thanks to the full court pressure defense. The intermission would witness ADM down by a thirteen point margin 33-20.

From there it would be a game of call and response with ADM responding heavily to start the second half out dueling the Lady Wildcats 21-11 entering the final quarter thanks to 5 of 10 shooting from the floor and 3 of three from beyond the arc. ADM would cut the lead to just two twice in the fourth quarter but four consecutive free throws late from Agatha Beier helped solidify the lead and the win.

For the third time in the past five games, freshmen phenom Abbie Hlass took the top scoring honors for the Lady Tigers with 19 points on the night. She was followed up by a season best performance from fellow freshmen Delaney Bertman with 18 points, 9 of which came from the charity stripe as Delaney connected on a team best 9 of 10 free throws. Meredith Hoffman led the charge on both sides of the ball for the Lady Wildcats 5 blocks, 4 rebounds, and a team leading 18 points.

The Lady Tigers may not have come away with the win on the night, but they were victorious off the glass continuing their conference leading rebounding mark last night by out rebounding Carlisle 30-19.

With the loss, ADM now drops to 8-12 overall setting back their conference record to 6-7 meanwhile the Lady Wildcats earn their 10th straight win in 11 games while improving their overall record to 16-4 with a conference mark of 10-3.

Next up on the docket for the Lady Tigers is another road conference this Friday night, when ADM seeks to steal a win away from the Lady Toreadors beginning at 6:00 pm in Boone.
