The Legislature’s Transportation Committee is hoping to advance legislation increasing penalties for texting and driving. Representative Clel Baudler, retired a state trooper of more than 30 years, feels strongly about the legislation saying “Distracted driving should absolutely be a primary offense, just like seatbelts.” Baudler says a bill increasing penalties for distracted driving should see the floor soon.
