The 40th annual Bike Ride to Rippey is happening this Saturday.
The small town of Rippey will be invaded by hundreds of bike riders traveling from Perry.
There are several activities and events going on in Rippey that day. Fire Chief Pete Johnson says they will have their beer tent set up once again at the fire station. Walking tacos will be served along with beer and a DJ will provide musical entertainment. Beer tickets are $3 for one or $15 for six tickets. Individuals must be 21 or older to enter the beer tent.
Angela Abbis with the True Heroes Under God youth group from the Rippey Methodist Church says they will be serving their baked potato bar with all the toppings, along with homemade dessert bars and pies and beverages. Cost for only the potato bar is $6 and there is a minimal fee for the desserts and beverages. All proceeds will go toward the youth group’s summer mission trip to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Finally, the Rippey Lion’s Club will also serve their roast beef sundaes for $6, chili is $5, homemade bars and beverages are $1 each. They will be at the community building.
