Several concerts and events are coming up starting next month for the Greene County High School music department.
The high school will host the Iowa High School Music Association State Jazz Choir Festival on Monday, February 6th. Jazz choirs from Audubon, Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto, Carroll Kuemper, Adel-DeSoto-Minburn and Perry, along with Greene County will perform. The performances begin at 5pm and finish at 9:10 with Greene County’s Jazzatonics. The cost to attend is $3 for students and $6 for adults.
Then on Thursday, March 2nd will be the Heart of Iowa Conference Fine Arts Festival. Honor bands and choirs, along with visual arts from each of the conference schools will showcase their talents. The visual art displays will be in the Greene County Community Center and the concerts will be in the middle school gym starting at 7pm.
Finally, the high school vocal department is putting on “Shrek: the Musical.” Performances will be on the first weekend in March. Friday and Saturday’s shows are at 7:30pm and Sunday is a 2pm matinee. All performances will be in the high school auditorium. Tickets will be available at a later date.
