Tonight both basketball teams for the West Central Valley Wildcats will be in action kicking off the first of four straight home games.

They will be welcoming in the Van Meter Bulldogs for a girl/boy double header conference contest starting with the Wildcat girls basketball team. The Lady Wildcats have one of their steepest tests of the season welcoming in a Van Meter squad fresh off a conference title last year and a current four game winning that includes a 19 point win over class 4A ADM Lady Tiger squad.

It’s a match up similar to the likes of an immovable object meeting an unstoppable force starting with the likes of the Van Meter defense. The immovable Lady Bulldog defense has been exceptionally stingy allowing the lowest point total in the entire conference with just 171 points scored on them the entire season so far. They will be matched up against the unstoppable force of the West Central Valley Lady Wildcat offense averaging a conference second best 54.3 points per game totaling the second most points inside the conference with 326. The Lady Wildcats will hope to spring off of their 71 point performance in their last match up against Madrid as they are in the hunt for their third win on the season.

As for the boys contest the Wildcat boys squad will be looking to claw their way into an even record currently sitting at 2-3 on the season. West Central Valley aims to continue the up and down pattern for just one more game as the alternating loss/win scenario would land the Wildcats a win here tonight. They are matched up against a Van Meter squad that has had their number the past few seasons as the Bulldogs have acquired an 8-0 record against West Central Valley in the past four seasons. The Wildcats enter tonight’s contest averaging 56.8 points per contest as opposed to the Bulldog’s 65 points per game average.

The conference girl/boy double header for the Bulldogs and the Wildcats will tip off starting with the girls game at 6:00 pm followed by the boys contest at 7:30 pm.
