A garage and a vehicle were destroyed in a fire in Cooper Sunday night.
Jefferson Fire Chief Jack Williams says the Jefferson and Grand Junction Fire departments, as well as the Greene County Sheriff’s office and Greene County Medical Services responded to a structure fire at 202 West Street around 7:26pm.
Williams tells Raccoon Valley Radio that embers from a burn barrell may have ignited a detached garage on fire and burned down a vehicle that was parked inside. Additional fire damage was done to part of the exterior of the nearby home.
No one was hurt in the incident and crews were on scene of the fire for about two hours.
