As we reported, the Perry High School band and choir were competing against each other for bragging rights and a traveling trophy as they helped community members in need this holiday season.
The two groups collected food for the Perry Food Pantry at their annual Winter Concert Monday. Band Director Brandon Weeks says things went really well for being the first time they did it.
Though an exact count on the number of items collected isn’t known, Weeks says they filled up at least a pick up truck load full of items.
His band students will get to hold on to the trophy for the next year and Weeks says it was nice for the students to be able to give something back to the community.
