guthrie-co-supervisors-12_6The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday in regular session.

There was only one bidder for the transfer station materials hauling contract with Koster Green and the Board is expected to approve the contract at a future meeting.

The Board also approved two contracts for bridge replacements. Both contracts were awarded to Murphy Heavy Contracting for bridges in Ridgeland and Seely townships. The Ridgeland Township bridge was $411,310 and the Seely Township bridge was $962,961. Both bridges will be funded by federal aid money, which is about 80 percent of the total cost. They also approved a staff change in the County Engineer’s office for Chad Herron as an equipment operator.

The Board then discussed proposals by the Mental Health Regional Board. Representative and Supervisor Board Vice-Chair Clifford Carney indicated that Guthrie County is leaning toward not allowing the mental health advocate to be a full-time employee by the region and not allowing four employees to serve as mental health counselors in each of the participating counties school districts. No action was taken by the Board.
