Both West Central Valley girls and boys basketball teams will be taking on the newly formed ACGC Chargers in both a Guthrie County, and West Central Activities Conference showdown tonight.
The boys squad is looking for their second win on the young season tonight. So far on the season the Wildcats have lost their season opener by a slim one point margin to Woodward-Granger, then took an 11 point win away from the Panorama Panthers, and lost in a rather lopsided affair to Ankeny Christian Academy 90-53. Now West Central Valley, averaging 61.7 points per game through three contests while averaging over 47% from the floor will look to even up their 2016-2017 record at 2-2 with a win.
As for their lady counterparts, the West Central Valley Lady Wildcats will also bee seeking their second win on the season as they square off against the Lady Chargers. West Central Valley enters tonight’s contest averaging just over 50 points per contest shooting just under 40% from field goal range while just about matching that in three point shooting at 37.5%. They will be looking for another fast start as the Lady Wildcats have earned 54 points through all four fist quarters so far, the second highest quarter total this season for West Central Valley.
Both games tonight will be on the road in Guthrie Center with the girls game to kick things off at 6:00 pm followed by boys tip off at 7:30 pm.
