State Auditor Mary Mosiman’s office has released an audit report on the City of Adel.

According to the report the city’s receipts totaled $6.4 million for the fiscal year that ended June 30th.  That’s a 6.2 percent increase over last year.  This includes $2.5 million from charges for service, $1.7 million in property tax, $1 million in operating grants, contributions and restricted interest, $641,000 from tax increment financing, $474,000 in local option sales and services tax, $3,800 from unrestricted interest on investments and $61 on other general receipts.

Disbursements for the year totaled $5.6 million.  This is a 12.5 percent decrease from the previous fiscal year, which the report states is due to less capital projects activity..  The expenses include $1.4 million for business type activities, $982,000 for public safety, $981,000 for debt service and $737,000 for culture and recreation.
