It was the first tournament of the season for the ADM Tiger wrestling team this past Saturday as they took the short road trip to the Dallas Center-Grimes Invitational.

The Tigers had 12 individuals participate in a very tough field and the team as a whole came away with a very solid outcome. Leading the way for ADM was 106 lb returning state qualifier Andrew Flora taking 2nd place at 106 lbs loosing out on first place after a major decision loss a class 3A opponent, Ankeny Centennial’s Ben Monroe. Next up from Flora was ADM’s 138 lb wrestler Nolan Harsh who earned 3rd place defeating Creston’s Trevor Marlin by 4-0 decision.

Both Caleb Buse at 145 lbs and Kinnick Sutton at 195 lbs earned 4th place finishes while 132 pounder Hogan Hopewell earned a 5th place finish. The rest of ADM’s 12 wrestler field was comprised of two 7th place finishes and four 8th place finishes.

Next up for the Tigers will be a Thursday contest in a quadrangular at Gilbert high school battling it out with Gilbert, Collins Maxwell-Baxter, and Greene County high schools beginning at 5:30 pm.
