The Perry School District is mourning the loss of a beloved teacher and coach.

High School Industrial Technology instructor Darin Steva passed away Sunday at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Superintendent Lynn Ubben says they are “very saddened by the death of Steva.  Darin was very involved in the community and his church as well as our school district.  He loved celebrating our kids and their successes.  No doubt, Darin will be missed by many.”

She also thanked the staff and students for supporting Darin’s family during this sad and stressful time.

Visitation will be held Friday at the Carris Funeral Home in Perry from 2-7pm with family present from 4-7pm.  Funeral services will take place Saturday at 1pm in the Perry Performing Arts Center at the high school.
