The City of Perry joined the Greater Des Moines Partnership this week.
City Administrator Sven Peterson says he feels this will be beneficial for both entities.
“We’ve always been caught in the middle with ‘Do we want to be part of the metro or do we want to be our own identity?’ I think with this partnership, with the Greater Des Moines Partnership, we’ll have more access to some resources that will put us in the spotlight in the metro. Especially with our housing that we’re trying to boost up in town. There will be a lot of great networking opportunities and opportunities for us to get our community out in front of some of the builders in Des Moines to hopefully lure them out this way.”
The City’s membership in the partnership comes at an annual cost of $2,500.
