Once you’re all shopped out for the day, the Perry Chamber encourages everyone to join them for their annual Lighted Christmas parade Friday.
Executive Director Bob Wilson says this tradition has been going on for over two decades. The parade itself will follow the same format as years’ past, starting at 7pm at the corner of 2nd and Otley. The route heads north on 3rd Street, west on Pattee Street and then south on 2nd Street. After the parade the festivities move into a new location.
“Afterward we’re going to go to the Town/Craft center at 1122 Willis, that’s right next to Soumas Court, it’s on the corner of Willis and 2nd Street. Meet Santa, tell him all the good things you want and if you’ve been good or bad or in between. There will be some cookies and hot chocolate while you’re hanging out around there. There will be some carolers. It’s just a good time to come downtown and celebrate the kick-off kind of to the holidays.”
Anyone wanting to have an entry in the parade is welcome to do so. Please let the Chamber know by stopping by the office or calling 465-4601.
