iowa-state-patrolTwo Jefferson residents were injured in a one vehicle crash on Sunday.

According to the Iowa State Patrol, 85 year-old Myron Lovell Brown was traveling east on Highway 30 and approaching the intersection with Highway 4 at 2:57pm. Brown suffered medical complication that caused him to blackout. The 2004 Buick Lesabre continued through the intersection, without stopping, heading east. The Lesabre then went off the road into the south ditch, hit a grassy mound and flipped end-over-end twice before coming to a rest on its wheels.

Brown and his passenger, 85 year-old Marylee Brown suffered serious injuries and were taken to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Emergency Medical Services. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident and the Lesabre is considered to be a total loss.

The Greene County Sheriff’s office, Jefferson Fire Department and the Greene County EMS assisted at the scene.
