This past Friday was the first official game for the ADM Lady Tiger basketball team as they laid host to the Lady Lions of Des Moines Christian.
There was a big crowd on hand to watch the Lady Tigers earn a revenge win after being defeated by the Lady Lions last season, and ADM would not disappoint.
The game started off rather inauspiciously for ADM after a low scoring first quarter saw the Lady Tigers down 7-12. The speed of ADM wouldn’t keep the Lady Tigers down for long as they went on a 14-9 run in the second quarter to end the first half all tied up at 21-21. Sophomore Kristen Baier and junior Sydney Canney led the first half scoring posting up 6 points a piece through two quarters.
ADM wasn’t done with the scoring bombardment at the end of the first half, in fact they would continue the offensive explosion by going on a 23-10 run to end the second half and ending the contest with a 44-31 victory. Kristen Bair would take the top scoring honor with 9 points overall followed by freshmen Abbie Hlass and Sydney Canney with 8 points a piece.
Rachel Hardy would end as ADM’s top rebounder for the contest while there would be a three way tie for the top three point shooters for the Lady Tigers as Allie Cook, Sydney Canney, and Abbie Hlass would all score two three point buckets on the evening.
ADM’s originally scheduled game for today against Norwalk has been cancelled meaning the next game for the Lady Tigers will be on the road tomorrow taking on Van Meter beginning at 7:30 pm.
